This is a plain-language policy. No 40-page legal maze — these are the actual terms of being a member, written to be read. Last updated June 2026.
Membership and pricing
- Standard membership is $49/year, billed once a year, auto-renewing until you cancel.
- Founding Members (the first 500) pay $9.95/year, locked for life — the rate never increases as long as membership stays continuously active. If a founding membership lapses or is cancelled, the founding rate and member number do not return; rejoining is at the standard rate.
- Founding Members are numbered #1–500 permanently and listed on the founders’ wall. Founders receive the same membership benefits as standard members — the distinction is the rate, the number, and the recognition.
Refunds and cancellation
- 30-day refund, no questions. If membership isn’t what you hoped within your first 30 days, email us and we’ll refund your payment in full.
- Cancel anytime from your account — no phone calls, no retention scripts. Your membership runs to the end of the period you paid for.
- We’ll remind you before each renewal so a charge never surprises you.
Your content
Anything you post — profile content, community posts, recordings, opportunity listings — remains yours. By posting it, you give IAPM permission to display it within the association (your directory listing, member spotlights you opt into, community spaces). We don’t claim ownership of members’ work, and we won’t use your work in outside marketing without asking you first.
Community conduct
The community standard is the same as the brand: warm, low-ego, craft-first. Concretely:
- Treat every member as a colleague — from conservatory professors to devoted amateurs. No gatekeeping by level, instrument, or genre.
- No harassment, no hate, no piling on. One warning at most; egregious cases, none.
- Self-promotion is welcome when it’s the work; the community isn’t a billboard. Members who only broadcast may have posting privileges limited.
- Opportunity listings must be real, and honest about compensation.
Members removed for conduct receive a refund of their unused membership time — we keep the community, not the money.
The association and its sponsor
IAPM is sponsored by Bravura, openly. Sponsorship funds operations and the founding rate; it does not purchase member data (see our privacy policy) or editorial control of member-facing content.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change in any way that affects you, we’ll email members before the change takes effect. The founding-rate lock is not subject to change — that promise is the foundation the founding class joined on.
