This is a plain-language policy. We’ve written it the way we’d explain it across a table, because that’s how an association should talk to its members. Last updated June 2026.
What we collect
- Account information. When you register: your name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), and the optional profile details you choose to add — instrument, discipline, location, bio, and website.
- Newsletter email. If you subscribe to the free newsletter, we collect your email (and first name if you give it). No account is created.
- Payments. Membership payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — Stripe sends us confirmation that a payment happened, and we store a customer reference so we can manage your membership.
- CRM sync. Your email, name, and membership status are synced to our customer relationship system (GoHighLevel) so we can send you the newsletter and membership emails you signed up for.
What we do with it
We use your information to run your membership: deliver the newsletter, list you in the member directory (only if you keep that setting on — it’s yours to toggle), process renewals, and tell you about association programs. That’s the list.
What we will never do
We do not sell your data. To anyone. Ever. We don’t rent the member list, we don’t trade emails with partners, and sponsorship (including Bravura’s) does not include access to member data. Perks are opt-in: a partner only learns about you if you claim their perk yourself.
Cookies
We use two cookies, and only two:
- A session cookie that keeps you logged in to your account.
- An anonymous visitor id used to show consistent page versions while we test which copy serves visitors better. It’s random, it isn’t tied to your identity, and it isn’t shared with anyone.
No third-party advertising trackers. None.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter anytime — one click.
- Hide yourself from the member directory anytime in your account settings.
- Ask us to delete your account and data: email us and we’ll do it. Payment records stay with Stripe as long as law requires.
